Probably the first flight cage built for bird rehabilitation purposes in Romania

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIn autumn 2012 Milvus Group and Vets4Wild Association started building the Rehabilitation Centre from Sânsimion (Mureș county).
The 4 m high and 25 m long cage was built with the sponsorship of the ”Conservation of Falco cherrug in NE Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia” LIFE project and is the result of several months of voluntary work. The plan of the cage was discussed after a visit to the Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre of Green Balkans from Bulgaria. This cage was built exclusively for rehabilitation, here birds can practice flying and gather energy before releasing, so that they have more chances to survive in their natural habitat. Nobody has to enter in the cage, the birds are fed from the outside.

On the 4th of August 2013 the building of the cage was finished, thus the Saker Falcon which arrived to us last autumn from Arad has a new place to stay until it will be able to fly above the pastures with European Ground Squirrel.
